SAD: Last night, again made unfounded claims about massive voter fraud in NH in 2016. In this letter, I ask him to back up his claims in terms a former casino operator should understand: “There comes a time when you need to lay your cards on the table or fold.”

Employing white supremacist language to attack me is, sadly, a return to its roots for a magazine that defended Jim Crow in the 1950s-60s and S Africa’s apartheid regime until its dissolution in 1994. Nowadays defends Trump from charges of racism.

"Silence from good people allows racist rhetoric and hatred to fester. Inaction from those with influence does, too. Religious people must bring our moral convictions to bear on these matters, and we must do so in public." — J. Spencer Fluhman

When white supremacists, neo-nazis and racists needed a place to express their hateful views, invested his own money to help build it. If Dan Bishop supports extremists, we can't support Dan Bishop.

the NC-9 is undergoing a rerun due to fraud that the GOP state party could have nipped in the bud, and the GOP nominee is the fellow who invested in a far-right website home to white nationalists. How is the GOP getting away with this?

The time is now for us Republicans to be honest with what is happening inside our party. We are better than this and I implore my Republican colleagues to stand up and do the right thing.

This an important and rare truth-telling statement from an elected Republican, Nebraskan state Senator John McCollister, a man who has the best interests of the country AND the Republican Party in mind.

Instead of saying “white nationalists,” which is the euphemistic, more legitimizing descriptor racists prefer, we should say “white supremacists” because it describes their evil ideology more accurately. It’s especially important that the media start getting this right.

Neil, I’m a big fan of your work and I get your point, but it overlooks the destructive impact of terrorism that, by design, extends beyond its death toll. Terrorism broadly attacks our way of life by inspiring fear, eroding public trust and requiring compromises of our freedoms.

The very last line of the manifesto attributed to the alleged El Paso gunman could have come straight out of one Trump’s speeches: “I am honored to head the fight to reclaim my country from destruction.” My column:

Those encouraged by his words in recent years kill more Americans than Islamist terrorists. If that is not justification for bipartisan repudiation of this president and removal from office at the earliest possible moment I don’t know what is.

Trump, talking about migrants on the southern border: “How do you stop these people?” Crowd: “Shoot them.” Trump, chuckling: “That’s only in the Panhandle you can get away with that stuff.”
