It feels comforting to be in a city that I can look across into the hills and mountains beyond. Still getting used to this being my new home, but the beautiful landscape makes it easier; I feel at home in the mountains.

I haven't tried either of these, just found out about them yesterday so let me know if you try it!

Hmm, that's odd. I was reading up on the open source MDA program ArtiSynth yesterday and it also has FEA options. There is a function to generate an FE mesh, or you could try running TetGen directly:

To remesh my merged photogrammetry meshes I use an old version of Meshlab (can look it up when I get home), and use the Poisson filter with Octree = 8 and Solver = 12. This gives me clean meshes to work with for Maya, although I haven't tested it for FEA.

Driving down to Zürich to start a postdoc with Torsten Scheyer. Super excited for the mountains but saying goodbye to good friends is always hard

Got my bike fixed up before my move to Switzerland (new chain, cassette, shifter cables, and break pads). Been meaning to for a while and it runs so smoothly! Also break pad labels are fitting
