My point is and was that health impacts should be considered in the bike lane policy and I haven't seen it in the discussion.

Extending the logic from the pollution section and your initial reply, it would be fine to suck on a tailpipe as long as I'm doing other healthy things (exercise, eat healthy) that outweigh the damage the tailpipe is doing to me. I think the net benefit evaluation is simplistic.

I think this is a pretty oversimplified take on the issue, particularly when the intent is to encourage more young people (kids) to use the bike lanes and they are more sensitive to pollution than adults. I hope decision makers are considering all the facts.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the impact on human health of inhaling vehicle exhaust associated with bike lanes being on hi-traffic roads. It's nasty stuff. AHS recommends building active transportation away from major roads.

BBC Radio wanted to have me on today to debate a climate-denier in the context of the drought/heatwave. I said NO. I told them it was a disgrace that they still give climate-deniers airtime at a time like this. I won’t be part of such charades any longer. Please RT if you agree.
