DC Robert Saleh to me last year on Ken Norton's impact on him when they were assistants: "Ken Norton Jr. had a huge impact for me in his love for the players. And making sure the players understand that you love them. It’s not coach vs. player. We’re all one."

I'm OK with this as long has he NEVER becomes DC. He was clueless with the Raiders. I'm sure he'll make a fine position coach.

What does making sure players know that you love them have anything to do with it? Just ask Parcells.

KNJ had zero ability to get players in positions to win. He had 2 years to coach up the Raiders defense and the defense got worse and worse. Pagano had the defense looking competitive in the 6 weeks he was DC.

What does that have to do with him coaching LBs in SF? He did a damn fine job at the same position in Seattle from 2010-2014. All Pros across the board.

When he was fired by the Raiders, current Raiders players and former players who played for Norton were really upset about it, if I remember correctly. That says something.

KN JR. is a great position coach for LB's and maybe DL. That's about it.
