These are things Scotty is allergic to: FACTS. On manipulated maps signed by Scott Walker, Republicans took 45% of the vote for the State Assembly, but “won” 64% of the seats. Walker cheats to win. Dare him to support non-partisan bodies, not politicians, to draw the maps. I do.

We knew this all long. Scott Walker admits it: Former Wisconsin governor argues votes in metropolitan areas shouldn't count as much as votes in rural areas. Hey Scotty ever hear of one person one vote? Bedrock American Constitutional principle. Fairness!

As he demonizes immigrants through policies and statements remember this: unless you are descended from Native Americans YOU are of immigrant stock. ALL of us are. The only difference is when and how our ancestors got here. That’s the beauty - and strength - of this country.

In the final analysis-as always-it is the American people that will decide what kind of democracy we will have. I am confident that we will choose wisely and reverse the anti-democratic policies and pronouncements of the past two years. We are the change.

The greatness of this Nation has always been measured by its capacity - and willingness - to make positive change possible; by the determined action of its citizens to create a more just and more free America. So it must be again.

On July 2, 1964 President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. We stand on the shoulders of giants as we celebrate those who worked so hard to perfect this union of ours and we honor them by continuing-today more than ever-the fight to protect and expand freedoms

This chart shows the impact of gerrymandering. Look at it. There can be no justification for thwarting the will of the people as our system now does in too many places.

Great piece by Ari Berman on the dangers of gerrymandering and the ways to make our elections fair. We won’t make our system better without great effort and the involvement of the American people. The Supreme Court got it wrong - we can make it right.

64% of Floridians voted to re-enfranchise released people. Republican legislature and governor gutted the bill-Afraid that these new voters would not be supportive of them. A purely political move. Republicans don’t respect the will of the people. Cowards
