This Memorial Day, as many of us enjoy fun with friends and family, please also take a moment to remember those who sacrificed for our freedom, why we cherish this day, and honor the heroism of the men and women who gave their lives for our nation’s safety.

Motorcycles. Veterans. Flags. No better way to celebrate the service of a generation of veterans. A moving tribute—hundreds of families and riders—honoring Vietnam veterans in Wentzville last night.

We all have to deal with suffering, but if we deal with it in the right way, we can emerge with strength. I also believe, as many people of faith do, that even in the hardest situations, we can find blessings.

This experience has also been humbling, and I've emerged from it a changed man. I believe that in all of our lives, we have to deal with pain, and that if we deal with it in the right way, we can learn wisdom.

Today, the prosecutor dropped the false charges against me. This was a great victory and a long time coming. I've said from the beginning that I am innocent.

I will not be resigning the Governor's office. In three weeks, this matter will go to a court of law—where it belongs and where the facts will prove my innocence. Until then, I will do what the people of Missouri sent me here to do: to serve them and work hard on their behalf.
