We believe no one should have to suffer in silence because they are too ashamed, or because they believe that their symptoms are normal. Please sign our petition to teach in schools:

"What I wish I had learned is that painful periods aren't normal. That periods that last beyond 8 days aren't normal. That it's not normal to feel period pain all month long. That periods should be regular."

"Do you know what I was taught at school about periods? Nothing. Absolutely nada. We had an assembly where all the girls were separated from the boys and we were told off for sticking used sanitary towels to the toilet walls. And that was it."

People shouldn't have to struggle for years with no answer to their health problems. They shouldn't be left to think that the symptoms they're experiencing are normal. Teach menstrual wellbeing in schools, please sign our petition:

"How then are we as women able to live as our strongest and happiest selves if we lack these basic facts on our health? It really isn't just about stopping painful periods, it's about helping protect every girl's fertility and quality of life."

If I had, then I would have known what to look out for sooner, known what wasn't normal sooner, and would have been able to see the right doctor sooner. This would have saved me from years of symptom suffering and prevented my endo from getting so bad my organs stuck together."

"At school we learnt about the birds and the bees and how all things worked, but nothing was ever mentioned about what was actually normal or abnormal, in fact it was not even mentioned that periods could be painful or that you could even suffer with any sort of menstrual issue."

"The first time I heard anything about was during an episode of Embarrassing Bodies. A girl around my age had gone on the show and was describing all the same symptoms I had been taking to my GP for years."

"Pain in between periods are not normal. Pain with sex is not something everyone experiences. When the doctor tells you it’s nothing, look for someone else who will listen. That you’re not alone in pain." Teach menstrual wellbeing in schools:
