I hate that. Not knowing something doesn’t make you weak. It shows you’re aware of the spots you should learn more. That’s more important imo

That’s what I’m saying. I’d never publish a blog if that’s the case.

Your β€œcriticism” was asking someone to provide proof of their credibility. Not criticism. Do you do this with everyone who posts an article? If she said something incorrect, that’s one thing. But you came here just to challenge her credibility.

For the record I’m not saying you should teach incorrect information or not be informed. I’m saying, for example, you don’t need to know all nuances of a language to teach pieces of it.

I agree you have to know the topic you’re teaching to ensure the information you’re providing is correct. But this person was telling Ali she needed to understand Python fully to teach. That, I don’t agree with.

Also congratulations. You’re officially a bully. Whether you realize it or not these comments were bullying Ali into proving her worth. It’s not ok. It will never be ok. And she deserves an apology. Even if you were joking which I don’t think you were.

I’m sorry but this infuriated me. is an incredible teacher, as many of us can attest, and to have someone come in, even jokingly, to say this? No. Not cool.

Hey teachers out there, what’s your opinion on this? I wholeheartedly disagree. If people had to fully understand something to teach, nobody would do it.

Uh she owes you nothing? Ali is an amazing teacher. She doesn’t have to prove a thing.
