Held a event today to celebrate the legacy of my late friend & colleague Jo Cox. I remember listening to her maiden speech in parliament’s chamber - than that which divides us. Jo’s spirit lives on as we remember and celebrate her life.

Not enough homes are being built at prices that people on ordinary incomes can afford to buy. In the House of Commons yesterday I called on the government to start building more council homes for social rent.

Asked Housing Minister in Parliament today if he understood that many people on low incomes can’t afford Tory govt “affordable” rent of 80% market rent & why isn’t govt building more homes for social rent. Got some acronyms & jargon in response.

Pleased to support and campaign to end violence at work. There should be zero tolerance to those who threaten or use violence against public service workers. For more information see:

is an important opportunity to show our appreciation for the over 6 million people across the UK who selflessly help & support relatives, friends or partners with care needs. Carers need more help and support from this government

Pathetic response from Davis on meaningful vote. If final deal voted down, Davis wants to instruct Parliament on what happens next, Grieve & Lords amendments say Parliament should vote on next steps. Parliament voting is hardly radical. Outrageous that govt is trying to block
