Indeed. They + the majority of governments utterly failed at multiple time points in the past years, months and even week(s) to mitigate or minimise this + save lives BEFORE they were lost. Performing well now is of no comfort to those lost or their families.

They announced that they were stopping flights from Italy AFTER Italy had already stopped them. Government did nothing. Harris stood by, handing out leaflets in the Airport for a photo op, while 400 a day were flying in from Italy.
