Dialogue! (Also doughnut and yoghurt. Not super attached to these spellings, but somehow I feel like I'm being lazy if I don't use them.)

I just post my personal email on my website. Sounds crazy but I've never had a problem. (Maybe if I were super famous it would be different!)

I'm afraid I'm not attending, unless it's for a very close friend or critique partner. I feel guilty about it, as I myself hosted a few when my books came out. But I get very fidgety in Zooms these days and can't sit still long!

Here we go again. Heat and winds sparked multiple new wildfires in California this weekend. We woke up to smoky air here in SF, and news of friends evacuating in the middle of the night...once more. (Also sad to see historic buildings burn!)

Agree, I can see it. Pumpkin curry is delicious! Pumpkin is so versatile. I feel like it's is like tofu--it can take on any flavor you decide to impart on it. (And I'm just assuming this is not a pumpkin spice situation.)

I'm halfway through 's new MG novel, THE EXCEPTIONAL MAGGIE CHOWDER (it's excellent!) so was delighted to see her featured on Kidlit 411 this week. I knew when I read Renee's chapter book series a few years ago that she was incredibly talented. Congrats, Renee!

Our golden retriever lies like that a lot and it always makes us laugh. I'll have to show my kids the spatchcocked chicken photo!

Wow--my CP and friend's book, PILAR'S WORRIES, is on Julie Andrews's podcast this week! Julie does it justice, with her lovely voice and musical accompaniment. Congrats, ! So glad more people are going to get to hear your wonderful, important book!

I know! It was great. I walked way, way down the beach and there were only a tiny handful of people.

Funny that basically all students in 2020 have added “synchronous” and “asynchronous” to their daily vocabularies. And I love my daughter’s spelling of it. (And yes, I did have to triple check my own spelling before posting!)
