"If it’s a friend of mine, I’m always talking to them. I know the real story if it’s my friend." Men who believe this are deluded fools. Abusers lie. They lie to their friends, too. The person who knows "the real story" is the victim. Listen to them.

The Trump Administration sends their staff, on your tax dollars, to try to stop young immigrants from getting the abortions they want, delaying their care, making it more expensive and inaccessible. This is a human rights violation.

Every single word of this. Women's bodies have been treated as communal property for men to be used as they desire. No fucking more.

"Here’s what that means. It means that men still get to call us whores, and then they get to gaslight us by calling us crazy for taking offense."

Coming forward and owning past behavior like this needs to be part of the solution. But you raped that crying girl who said no. Saying "She believed she was raped" is not you taking responsibility. Glad you are committed to listening and changing.

A6. Whenever I watched movies with my mom and a man mistreated a woman in a scene, even when it was supposed to be funny, she would say, "What he's doing is wrong/he shouldn't treat her that way," and it really stuck with me. I didn't take those normalized dynamics for granted.

Q4. I tweeted out an opinion 3 weeks ago and just this morning received another detailed rape threat in response. There have been thousands of them.

Q3. It really helps when good friends who know me well act as a sounding board and give honest feedback. I like making time to do the same for them, as well.

A2. My people love to read and write, make music, and lean into their creativity. Belonging to a community, for me, depends a lot on sharing that creative inspiration with others and enjoying each other's work.

A1. Ravioli from Spinelli's in East Boston, or homemade by one of the Italian women in my family. I miss those big family dinners now that I live across the country.

I was once on a elevator alone with (& a man w/him) at Madison Square Gardens. He was aggressive & told me I was coming home with him. I laughed, stating I was married to a Ranger. He guaranteed me my husband didn’t make as much money as him.
