The front page of the NYT right now looks like one of those pre-election parodies about what a Trump administration would be like.

Worth remembering how split control of east Syria lends itself to a bifurcated Islamic State presence, and to different operational modes. The group's contingent in Syria's Badiyah center can seemingly congregate and pose. On the Euphrates' Jazirah bank...

Not sure if Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib know this, but they are not the first to suggest that the U.S. predicate financial aid to Israel on a commitment from Israel re Palestinian rights. The first to make this suggestion were George H.W. Bush & James Baker in 1991. 1/

New “Wilayat al-Sham” video – the latest in a series of renewed pledges of allegiance by Islamic State “provinces” worldwide – seems to show how far aboveground the group can operate in Syria’s central Badiyah, without the U.S.-led Coalition overhead.

At some point everyone of us will consider how we turned our backs on the Palestinians-for more than half a century-Even our sincere love of Israel will not be enough to forgive our (de facto) racist inhumanity toward this imprisoned nation.

Current situation in southern Hama. Most rebels withdrew from the almost-besieged pocket. Fighting has largelty stopped in that area & opposition sources are telling me negotiations are ongoing between Russia & Turkey concerning force deployment in the area.

Glad to see officials admit the goal is transfer. A deliberate policy to worsen conditions in Gaza has devastated the lives of 2 million people. Israel is not a savior, it's pretending to rescue the inhabitants of a burning building it itself set on fire.

Good look at the slow breakdown of rebel defenses over the past several months here. Couple things I want to add. As & I said yesterday, sometimes it's as simple as months (or years) of unrelenting bombardment destroying the frontline. But...
