The summer heat is in full force at the moment and there’s nothing better to cool you down than a home made ice block. Not only are they free from nasties, they’re free from plastic wrapping. Good for you and good for our planet.

My lawnmower is vintage - circa mid 80’s. I inherited it from my Grandfather. After over 35 years of use, his lawnmower stopped working. The fabulous guys at will do a good job in repairing it. Repair is an essential strategy in reducing landfill.

My beeswax wraps have been getting a real workout lately and deserve a rest 😂. This week we’ve had lots of left over food that’s needed covering in the fridge. These babies were keeping my left over salad crisp and fresh.

I often get asked ‘how do I know when my compost is ready?’ Compost is ready or finished when it looks, feels and smells like rich, dark earth. You shouldn’t see any vegetable pieces in it. It should be dark brown, crumbly and smell like earth.

Everybody needs to get from here to there. All modes of transport require energy but some are more friendly to the earth than others. After a recent trip to Copenhagen I became inspired to ride my bike again in Sydney. Good for the environment and good for me.
