You’re on the right track. The key is OBP LEADS to hitting w RISP. Better pitches to hit, higher pitch counts, getting to bullpen earlier, all that.

One leads to the other. That’s the point. They did NOT get enough on base at the end of the year

No that’s just baseball. They’ve been this way for going on 5 years. They had a somewhat unexplainable 2 months last year. Exception not the rule

Of course. This isn’t an opinion btw. The top OBP trans are the top run scoring teams year in and year out (there are some rare exceptions). No other offensive stat correlates like that. Not even HR’s which produce a run themselves!

Starters ERA is like saying whoever gives up the least runs is the best. Of course. But what LEADS to a low ERA? Is it k/bb, is it hits given up? Etc. fir O what leads to runs is OBP

No. Cmon. That’s a product of OBP anyway. I’m talking about a raw ability like getting on or hitting homers or hitting doubles. What correlates most to run scoring? OBP

OPS is a combo of stats. Between slugging and OBP, the latter correlates to run scoring.

OPS houses OBP. Looking for a raw stat that leads to run scoring its OBP

Cubs lead the NL in OBP. For my money, that's the most important team stat
