As part of the way Earth works as a system, carbon is continuously passed between the ocean, the land and the atmosphere. Satellites can help us understanding the carbon cycle and its role in climate change:

A lot is trapped as fossils on the ocean floor but we mine it as coal, or drill it as oil, then it gets into the air, only trees/plants can absorb it and put it back..!!!!
