Carrots, sweet potatoes and specially designed food pellets were dropped to wildlife this week in fire affected areas of eastern Victoria. The aerial food drops will provide wildlife, including the critically endangered Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby, with supplementary sustenance.

Thank you to the 41 firefighters from across the US who have arrived today to assist in managing Victoria’s ongoing and significant fire threat. Following briefing and training sessions, they will join local crews fighting fires in East Gippsland.

Tomorrow Wednesday 22 January has been declared by the CFA as a day of Total Fire Ban in the following areas - Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, Central, North Central and South West. No fires can be lit in the open air between 12:01am & 11:59pm on 22 Jan
