I like the multi-petalled poppy! I think I've realised it a bit more as I've got older. How the last war which seemed ancient history to me was recent experience for my parents. The old man in the village whose whole body shook all the time - my mother said "shell shock".

Someone who knows only too well how the British government works, and how dirty it plays, has a message for Scotland:

I'm so sick of the Woke and TRA circular logic! Transwomen are women but they can't ~BE~ transwomen if they're not men but they cannot be men because they are women but women cannot be transwomen only men are transwomen but they are not men they are women but not women but...

Three white poppies in the church. Me, the Brownie leader, and the organist who had a red one on as well. Also at an afternoon service at the old PoW camp the German minister had both white and red poppies too.

I was surprised that our church was no fuller than usual this year and less so than maybe ten years ago, despite the big anniversary. Good on your Brownies. One of our Brownie leaders (who happens to be in our Yes group) was wearing a white poppy but that was about it.

I really don't see how we can go on making a huge issue of commemorating a particular war more than 100 years after it finished. We'd still be mourning for Flodden at that rate.

I think that would be wise. The 100th anniversary was very significant and deserved to be marked with solemnity. But at the same time the message should have gone out, this is the last big one, we're really going to scale it back after this.

No, he wasn't. He had vile views that were never the views of the PPU. It has been wrongly claimed before that he was on PPU National Council. Would you like to come and check the minute books from the years in question?

I'd be less cynical about the BBC's "Beyond Fake News" feature if it included investigations into Gavin Esler's notorious Vote No Borders fake story, and Mr Robinson's "he didn't answer" doctored video. Once they investigate themselves, they can be trusted to investigate others.

I wore my poppy from 1st November (All Saints' Day) until yesterday evening. It was a white one. I twisted the wire stem round a Yes lapel pin and that kept it secure on whatever I was wearing.

It seems to have happened in parallel with the rebranding of the poppy as a pro-military symbol, using it in army recruitment and enforcing poppy-wearing as a patriotic duty. It's gone from "never again" to "support our brave boys".

On Brexit, Corbyn has much in common with Rees-Mogg and the disaster capitalists. They all intend to take advantage of the chaos and hardship that will inevitably ensue, and none of them is restrained by the prospect of collateral damage to the rest of us.

People put them on for actual remembrance events but take them off again. In church yesterday the organist had both a red one and a white one on, but by choir practice in the evening (unrelated to church) she was wearing neither.
