Bored of signing petitions that won't get listened to? This one has >60k signatures; I'm looking forward to seeing how the government fails to respond this time: "Halt For A Public Inquiry"

That's my 3rd year HMIC module over for another year. Well done to all those who have worked hard this year, and good luck in those exams! I'm taking a week off. No science, no teaching, no email, no Twitter. X

So the public shouldn't trust assertions by elected members of parliament when deciding on such matters? Who should they trust? Tabloid newspaper editors?

"The EU are fascists"? All of its citizens? Including you and I? The 28 leaders? Their governments? Their parliaments? You've proven Ian's point very well there Steven - nuance has proven to be more important in this than any of us ever realised. Look that word up Piers.

UPDATE: I've just given one of my students 90%. The government has just spent 3 years coming up with absolutely nothing.

Sometimes my students don't understand what is being asked of them. They usually ask for clarification. They might seek an extension. But they almost always produce something meaningful. I wish my government were more like my students.

Happy Brexit day. Just goes to show that when we take back control from the 'eurocrats' we get on with it and get stuff done.
