Kirsten Gillibrand Dec 14
5 years ago today, 20 kids and 6 educators were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary. My heart goes out to all whose lives were torn apart by gun violence on December 14, 2012, and on every day since. Congress’ failure to act is shameful. We need to pass lifesaving reform now.

Local TV won't be the same without the one and only . But we're proud to say (and to warn future Politics Hour guests) that we'll get to keep him around every Friday on . Cheers to Tom and all he does to make local D.C. great.

"Black women have been absolutely clear in their support for Democratic policies and Democratic candidates. It's high time for Democrats ... to invest in that effort." - Next, we'll train then. And elect them.

Her support of Donna Edwards for Senate over Chris Van Hollen over the rest of the establishment in a tough uphill struggle for Maryland's Senate Seat showed me that Gillibrand was serious about putting her money where her mouth was on backing progressives

53% of white women voted for Trump. 65% of white women voted for Moore. Seriously, what is going on...we need an intervention here? A predator and a pedophile, really?

Replying to @WarAgainstWomen
Acknowledged, but 40% of WW have some college and 20% of AfAm women have some college, so it’s not just about college education. We really need to get to the bottom of this.

Tonight proves once again that Black voters have the power to swing elections for progressive causes. It’s time for a new era for Democrats where our voices dictate this party's vision. We are not just your votes, we will make our voices heard

THIS. A win fueled by Black votes does not negate voter suppression. Black voters fought tooth and nail to get their votes counted. And many were unable to cast a vote at all.

For non-Black folks praising Black women in tonight's election - do more. Support Black women. Stand up for Black women. Hire Black women. Vote for Black women.
