Is it natural? Probably, but we will never know that now with 100% certainty. At least Loeb is willing to entertain just the *possibilty* that it was something else, while some other academics simply dismiss it entirely. Even if just a rock, it’s an enigmatic one.

I don't know about a friendly face but I think there is an increased need to explain the lack of observed ETI given what we now know thanks to Kepler. It could be the most important question to answer in order to successfully navigate our own future

Some calculations / other calculations? Really, Mr. Astronomer?
Why dont you calc. the odds of observing an interstellar object at LSR velocity to make yourself useful?
Then layer on the odds for the other "strange" #oumuamua characteristics so we don't talk "some calculations"
