I've introduced bipartisan legislation that would remove the special waiver needed to prescribe known treatments for addiction including buprenorphine. I continue to urge my colleagues to bring the MAT Act to the floor for a vote.

I continue to be deeply alarmed by the statistics of opioid-related overdoses & deaths in our community. This is an epidemic that requires the coordination of all levels of government & support for those with the disease that is addiction.

Despite the real and critical need for protecting communities from PFAS contaminants in our drinking water—our party leaders could not come together to include meaningful PFAS provisions in the NDAA. This is unacceptable.

This year, I amended legislation to increase funding for Lyme disease treatments. My bipartisan Stamp Out Lyme Disease Act builds on this work by creating a stamp to increase awareness & funding for research & development to move us closer to a cure.

I came to fight for every person in and truly serve the community I represent - not special interests or party politics. The communities of Hoosick Falls and Petersburgh deserve accountability for PFAS provisions at the federal level. The fight continues.

It shameful that party leaders couldn’t come together and put lives before politics as usual. I didn’t come to DC to get boxed out by a dysfunctional system prone to lead to bad outcomes.

This rule from the Trump Admin takes aim at one of the most effective anti-hunger programs in our nation's history & does not create jobs or help folks find work. Instead, this punishes low-income families & makes it harder for thousands on SNAP in upstate New York to get ahead.

We cannot accept the enormous costs of health care in our country, especially for millions of Americans living with pre-existing conditions. My Medicare-X legislation would add a public option to lower costs & increase choice.
