One thing I'm desperately missing this time of year thanks to Covid is California. Such a wonderful place to be in the festive season! However I'm being optimistic and planning a trip to the Huntington next Autumn. Fingers crossed we can all travel by then...

As someone who works on the East India Companies, I was always struck when I visited the Dutch Fort of Sadras on the Coromandel Coast with how substantial the 'factory' was - the storage inside for textile bales was enormous, with a spacious central courtyard for business.
