I completely agree, however, fundraising is always an issue for statewide seats. Especially for grassroots candidates who pledge not to receive contributions from Corporate PACs and Lobbyists.

In Rhode Island, our public schools remain open, indoor dining is still allowed, and non-essential retail is proceeding as usual. Looking at these lack of guidelines, one would not think that we are considered the second worst state in terms of COVID severity.

Thank you! I will always be proud of my roots in the 831 (Soledad). Preparing to be the youngest Latino to serve in any State Legislature is an important responsibility that I do not take lightly. I hope to make us all proud by fighting for the needs of working people!

Any official who has cut Medicaid, Democrat or Republican, should not even be considered to be our next Health Secretary. Actions matter, especially when it involves funding a healthcare program that affects our most vulnerable.

Last month I wrote to the President of Lifespan asking that they provide all their Healthcare workers with Hazard Pay and in response I was told they were unable to do so due to "unprecedented financial pressures". This corporate greed must be addressed.

Good. It is important all officials speak out against the Governor's constant efforts to cut state aid for distressed communities. Now more than ever, cities like Providence need financial support! It is wrong for our Governor to propose these cuts, people are struggling.

From State Govt. to US Congress to campaigning for President -- Shirley Chisholm always advocated for working/poor people & communities of color. As a Black Woman fighting for justice, this was not easy. Her contributions are unmatched & every Civics Course must recognize her.

Supporting our local small businesses doesn’t need to be a risky in-person endeavor! Shop online at Riff Raff for all your book needs (shipping is free)! Also remember to order “takeout” when eating locally.

As we prepare for another week remember that pizza, goodie bags, and social media posts praising essential workers are NOT substitutes for Hazard Pay. Regardless of whether one works at a restaurant, grocery store, retail, or a school -- ALL Essential Workers deserve Hazard Pay!

While our Government was initially doing an effective job to address COVID via testing and safety guidelines; they are now making irresponsible decisions that prioritize profits over public health. This is shameful and should be recognized.

The treatment of humans inside our tax-payer funded corrections facilities is absolutely immoral. COVID cases are rapidly rising yet immunocompromised inmates are not receiving resources & officers are reportedly not wearing CDC approved masks. People are scared for their lives.

Why are we using voter-approved bond money to remove buses from their central location, thus, creating an inconvenient experience for transit riders? Answer: dismantling our central hub encourages wealthy developers to enter downtown. This plan was never about helping riders.

This Thanksgiving I’m most thankful for every low-wage “essential worker” and healthcare worker who has kept us afloat each day since March (some of whom are even working today). Thank you for all you do. I hope you are all able to safely spend time with loved ones.

highlighted "1 in 4 RI households are food insecure" This has not left my thoughts. Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and many of us will be scaling back our feasts. Consider donating what you've saved to Feeding America or your local food bank
