being a front-end dev means you become responsible for the entire API/backend being down just because the button you implemented doesn't do anything when clicked

Variable length character encoding simply just didn't exist at the time.

Prior to UTF-(any), things were done quite differently. You either had 8-bit "ascii" characters or 16-bit "wide" characters. This can be seen in the Win32 API with function calls with either the "A" suffix or "W" suffix. This was the only way to do Unicode back in the day.

I switched to MariaDB long ago. They push patch releases about once every month. FreeBSD is almost always about 2-3 days behind upstream, that's it. So we get patches SUPER fast. Also, MariaDB officially supports FreeBSD natively in their upstream code base.

If that's the case, we should look at literally every cell phone company and top-5 tech companies here in the states, because they're all involved in that here at home too.

YouTube basically does this, at least it does for me. It auto generates playlists for me based on a starting point. I've discovered a TON of new music in the past year or two because of it.

Serious question: what is wrong with Tencent? I know they're huge in the asian gaming market, but that's about it. I know them more for their engineering team pushing quality open source software (as I'm a software engineer too). So whys it bad they own shares in Epic?

How about instead, you correct your broken app and respect people's names!? This is financial related. I'm not risking an IRS audit for putting a variation of my name into your broken form!!
