This idiotic headline summarises eveything wrong with the BBC's approach to these (as it insists on calling them) "protests".https://twitter.com/BBCNews/status/1269574979680702470?s=20 …

For the avoidance of doubt, the “violent clashes” headline is accurate, and is in line with how the BBC would normally report assaults on the police. The “peaceful protests” headline was an appalling dereliction of duty, putting political bias before accurate reporting.

There was 140k protestors across the UK last week with a few hundred arrests, so largely peaceful is correct. Is this really so hard for you to understand

Compare this to yesterday when all 3k Britain first activists turned up for a fight. ‘A small minority of these were peaceful’ would be a reasonable headline to describe the thuggery you’re trying to defend.

I notice that, in addition to now being “violent clashes” rather than “largely peaceful”, the BBC feels the need to remark that the right-wing protest was “mostly white”. I think it likely that the BLM protest was “mostly white” too… but apparently no need to say that…

What proportion of those in attendance were misbehaving in each case? Surely that matters when judging if an event is "largely peaceful" or not?

Contrast the numbers from last weekends protests to this weekends and you will they were ‘largely peaceful’. You truly believe the intentions of those that protested this weekend were to be peaceful?
