One way or another, we need to add a sense of dignity to the electoral process. If we want citizens to value their votes, the first thing to do is ensure that they can’t be stolen.

¨For 3 years Labour & Lib Dem MPs have smashed up our constitution. They have ignored the norms on which our democracy rests. They have politicised the Speaker’s chair. They have made our country a laughing stock abroad.¨

The EU agreement delivers: 🇬🇧Supremacy of British law 🚛Independent UK trade policy 💰No annual tribute to Brussels 🚜Control of farming and fishing 🤝Good relations with our EU neighbours All MPs elected in 2017 on pro-Brexit manifestoes - Labour, Tory and DUP - should back it.

Labour: "Shocking to jail Catalan politicians for demanding independence." Also Labour: "If Boris won't send a letter cancelling independence, he should be jailed!"

The current Cabinet contains 8 ministers who voted Leave and 14 who voted Remain. It *is* a Government of National Unity. What Remainers want is to create a government without a general election dedicated solely to overturning a national referendum. How is that “national unity”?

It’s not the dishonesty that bothers us, Jezza. It’s the credit you’re giving to our intelligence. Do you think we have forgotten that, just last month, you voted to block a general election?

David Lammy telling the brilliant and erudite to "pick up a history book" is peak Twitter. Especially since it is based on what we now know to be malicious invention: the transcript shows that Gove did not say anything even remotely resembling what his critics claim.

Brussels and Dublin hope that by rejecting a settlement and forcing an extension, they might end up with a more accommodating British Government. In fact, they are likely to get Boris back with an absolute majority - at which point they’ll wish they had grabbed these terms.

Good luck with that. This is precisely what Icelandic, Norwegian and Swiss EU-federalists said after their populations turned against the EU project. Now, years later, support for EU membership in those countries is at.. 25% in Iceland 20% in Norway 17% in Switzerland..

If this is true, there is no prospect of a deal - ever. What serious country could allow the trade policy of part of its territory to be dictated by someone else?

Labour have voted against every possible solution. Why not just come clean and admit it: they don't want to let us leave under ANY terms.

In 2011, Brussels imposed civilian juntas on Italy and Greece, toppling elected governments in order to prop up the euro. Now British Europhiles dream of changing the government here without a general election.

Great to see my old mate . As Thomas Jefferson said, “I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend."
