As is mentioning Germany - representation of regional parties is not a big issue here. A party has to win any 3 out of the 299 constituencies OR 5% nationwide. In fact, the conservative CSU only fields candidates in Bavaria & wins most constituencies

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll contribute to the global overdepletion of the ocean. So give him a salad, maybe.

Interessant auch der große Unterschied zwischen sozial-liberaler D66 und rechts-liberaler VVD. Und dennoch sitzen beide Parteien im EP in der ALDE-Fraktion.

- You ok, Jean? - Oh Border. I was putting up the 🎄and there’s this lovely bauble I’ve had for twenty years - it’s all shiny and hopeful and starry - and it fell, Border, it just fell, just carelessness, Border, and it smashed. A fragile beautiful thing, broken, Border, broken.

See how easily we could have solved the climate crisis if we had started in 2000! Only 4% reduction per year. Now we need 18% per year. You can thank climate deniers, lobby groups and cowardly politicians for this delay. From Global Carbon Project,

It is sad and deeply worrying that the Central European University is forced to move to Vienna. This should not happen in the EU. That is why the in Dec ‘17 referred Hungary to the European Court of Justice for its Higher Education Law.

well, i just don't think that it all goes back to simplistic epistemological and ontological principles. Day-to-day politics is very different from that, much more pragmatic and less ideological. You should know that.

Even on philosophical grounds, where do you differentiate? You do not consider a whole string of social liberal tradition that is still alive in politics today and very different from the crude liberalism that you described

Having attended the talk, that exactly was the issue. All that Blonde did was creating one big liberal stawman to blame for everything evil. No differentiation whatsoever. Pure ideology.
