Saw 2 people today post they had a paper rejected, AFTER it had been through 2+ rounds of revision. Major pet peeve for me: 1) same reviewer adding new comments after the first review, and 2) a journal bringing on new reviewers after the first or second revision.

They are a tough one to photograph here! I hear them every spring! Few photos though. Love that sound though...

That’s horrible...to state the paper is good enough that it could be made publishable with revisions, yet after two revisions it’s not? Guess I’ve never had a paper rejected after getting into the revisions cycle. 😕

Not the GMO itself that is the issue but the pesticide.

Touchdown...Franklin's Gull making a landing. There's not a lot of variety around at the moment, but between migrating geese and gulls, there are a lot of birds, particularly in areas like this below a big Missouri River dam (Gavin's Point).

Depends on the weather. If there's open water they can stay awhile, given all the grain they have to feed on. But they tend to leave once everything freezes up.

Felt like making a nice breakfast this morning. Eggs Benedict rip-off with salmon and avocado...

A new bird photo! Seems like it's been awhile. There are plenty of Snow Geese around right now, but reason I like this image is that it also caught a couple of Ross's Geese...the two smaller ones lower-right, with stubbier bills, no "smile".

How many bills is the GOP Senate and McConnell sitting on? STFU...you just embarrass yourselves with posts like this.

Always so cheery. I’ll take that “problem” in a heartbeat compared to what we have now.

Yeah I got the 100-400 right before Australia. And my old 400 5.6 hasn’t left the bag since. Loving that lens.

Do you have relatives in South Dakota? As in someone formerly USGS? Used to work with her.

I’m a fisherman, a rock hound, a birder, and a hiker. And I’m in Sioux Falls, not the Hills. 😢

No. I would like it, at least in terms of the surroundings. But at least politically it’s not QUITE as insufferable around Sioux Falls.

Respectfully....STFU. Anyone trying to spin this as anything but a major win for Dems is illusional.
