It took years of working multiple jobs, but I paid off $38k in loans. Sure, I would love my money back, or even a tax rebate. But I'd much rather live in an educated society not crushed by debt than get my money back. This dude is selfish and short sighted af.

People who want to keep the money they earned and sacrificed for are selfish and short sighted. But people who want to take from them so they can not work (or not work hard), take vacations, etc. are righteous and entitled to it. Got it! (This is sarcasm for those missing it).

My mother had polio as a child, before the vaccine was developed. Should she have begrudged ppl getting the vaccine because she had to suffer through it? No, she was happy to see no one else had to. That's called "humanity".

If you look at the studies. The student loan forgiveness program will disproportionately benefit wealthy people such as doctors, lawyers, IVY leaguers, etc. There has to be a more effective way to help the poor get an education than eliminating all student loans.

Good question. My husband and I worked hard to pay off our own student loans. Why are we not getting a refund?

In 2010-2011 Warren made $429K as a Harvard professor. In 2018 her husband, also a Harvard professor made $402K. I think she knows why college is expensive.
