This bust-up in the tunnel at Old Trafford today. It wasn't handbags: Mikel Arteta was left with blood pouring down face. Bottles as well as punches thrown. Romelu Lukaku prominently involved, according to witnesses.

Only a small thing, I know, but when I think of what guests/directors from other clubs were saying about the last regime (and it wasn't pretty) it's very reassuring to see how much has changed in such a short space of time.

Maybe not - but wasn't that a quote/opinion from a BBC reporter? (correct me if I'm wrong). Big difference, I'd say, between that and it coming from a police chief inspector (even before we get to the 'knives and knuckledusters' etc)

It's an official spokesman! Listen, believe what you want - sorry if you thought my response was snide: I was pointing out the *on-record* response in par two. If you think they lied, the driver lied, and the clubs too (you obviously think I did), go ahead (genuinely), cheers

"A return to the dark days of football." Yes, Sussex Police, with their stories about (non-existent) knives and knuckledusters, might have have shown that's true. Weekend column:

ah yes - an incident confirmed (on the record) by ambulance trust, and LFC, and MUFC, and leading to joint statement from two clubs. . . but all made up, apparently, because Alan Smith, who'd been knocked out by medics, said he didn't think it happened several years later.

I’m told that Meghan Markel agreed to accompany Harry to Nottingham after securing agreement that she is (a) introduced to John Robertson and (b) taken to the spot where Jimi Hendrix played on January 14, 1967.
