Our hearts go out to everyone in and all those who lost their lives. Firefighters were responding to the initial fire and were caught in the explosion. We will observe a minute’s silence today in recognition of the crews and everyone affected in Beirut.

Crews from Wellington and Danes Castle were mobilised to a fire in a stable block in Nicholashayne this evening. The fire was contained to the bales of hay in the building. An ambulance was called to treat two women suffering with smoke inhalation.

Crews from Buckfastleigh, Bovey Tracey and Ashburton, attended a car fire with possible persons trapped following an RTC this morning. After extinguishing the fire it was confirmed that there were no casualties inside the vehicle.
