The CEGV continued on doing incredible work in professional learning and resources. In 2001 the organisation's name was changed to ICT in Education Victoria. (ICTEV)

One year later, the "First National Computer Education Conference" was held at LaTrobe Uni by CEGV (May 17-18, 1979). Conferences continued each year.
