In SF I learned: the best VCs don’t really know what’s going to take off. In LA I learned: the best producers don’t really know what’s going to be a hit. Don’t chase success. Create what you think should exist. No one knows until everyone knows–and by then it’s too late.

Before jumping into something new, give yourself time to reset “We saw this problem at my last company and my coworkers think this is a good idea” 🚩 Before committing to an idea validate across different sectors, company sizes, use cases to see if the problem is felt broadly

The older I get the more I seem to value time over money. You can earn unlimited money. You can't earn any time though. When negotiating: ⏳ > 💰 (on the basis you earn enough to live comfortably) Also, vacation days shouldn't be seen as a privilege but as a right (and used).

The fact that you can't attach an image in 's mail app without them being added inline makes me more mad than it should 😡

Believe it or nor, but I’ve heard 's “November” while GF was browsing TikTok yesterday. Never thought that to be a platform that would surface his music...consider my mind blown 🤯 Also if you don’t know the piece, go listen 👌

Yeah, I agree. The problem I have is that sometimes (mostly) the daily affects me in that way, and since it's the first thing in the morning, it's hard to come back into the zone for the whole working day...

I don't have anything against meetings per-se. Not all of them are bad or unnecessary. Some really are crucial to overall understanding and alignment of the team and process. But they do throw me of my game greatly, so just trying to figure out how to go about that 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for this, I can resonate with the article's concepts. Blocking time while freelancing was ok, but now in a team, some meetings seem to be crucial and (most of) the people benefit from them greatly, so there's no real way to go around. Especially daily standup meetings...

The one thing that throws me off my concentration/productivity game most are meetings We have a meeting first thing in the morning It feels like my output is split by half. Every day I also can't seem to can recover once I'm out of my zone...not sure what to do about that...?

When a guy turns 30, they have to pick a subclass: - Vinyl Guy - Craft Beer Guy - Crossfit Guy - Ultimate Frisbee Guy - Fedora Guy And they ALL get to host a podcast about it.

This was on my mind recently too. It's not that I didn't have good teachers, but the way writing was presented was all about technicalities and what's wrong. Every time I think of writing I feel a bit of reluctance. When I start however, I love and enjoy the process...
