Clubs are inquiring on Marlins SP Jose Ureña. The Toronto Blue Jays are among several teams showing interest. He is a potential starter for a team in need. Under control through 2021. Miami has depth there.

I think that is fair. Villar was a very good move. Calhoun doesn’t move the needle, I get it.

The Mets have an agreement with righthander Michael Wacha, pending a physical, a source said. When the deal is done, he'll slot in as their No. 5 starter, their replacement for Zack Wheeler. Wacha, 28, had a down 2019: 4.76 ERA, 1.56 WHIP. Wacha is a CAA client.

It’s now perfectly clear to me that this must be the Marlins plan. No way will the Miami market support a 300 million dollar player again. Identify. Draft. Develop. Execute. This is the way.

Marlins have also done due diligence on Corey Dickerson and Kole Calhoun. Seem to like both. Again it’s a cost vs reward deal on them. Marlins have a pipeline of top players coming. Dickerson I’ve heard in particular from many carries a high price tag. 6 teams in on him.

Twins perhaps willing to move from Alcantara to Pablo López for Rosario says source. Miami not doing that either though. Could Rosario’s defense play in Marlins Park ? Something to ponder. Again, James Rowson knows this player. Have to trust his evaluation on a potential deal.
