Induced demand theory applies only to the western hemisphere according to one gentleman here!😀 But freeways & elevated roads, also built first in the west when cars came on the scene works superbly in the eastern hemisphere too !!😁

Doesn't augur well? Rason why BMTC has bcom this way is bcos it has to fend for itself & gets no support fm state. This trickles down to each bus chasing profits as the corp has to find money to keep it going, unlike other RTCs. All over the world, pubtrans gets subsidies BTW

It is generally much easier to manage garbage in smaller cities as volumes are small. In US, the problems of handling garbage faced by cities like Baton Rouge, Albany & DesMoines pale in comparison with those of large cities like NY, SF, Chicago & LA.

Pak has been ordered to conduct a re-trial as the original trial has been deemed bogus. So, paki court has been shamed. If a similar trial & identical sham judgement is pronounced, pak wl become a laughing stock again! Looks like you want pak to always remain a laughing stock!

Agreed, but do we go after ropeways first or build the backbone for a good public transport system first?

Layouts were built for people, not for being strangled by motor vehicles!

Sorry, "development" is not encouraging more & more polluting & space consuming motor vehicles with countless flyovers, road over road etc. China & America doing things wrong doesn't mean we follow same. Better we follow cleaner & greener concepts like Copenhagen, Amsterdam etc.

The rd wud hv been fine but for the onslaught of motor vehicles. Those layouts were built when veh nos. were few lakhs, not 8 million like now

All CITB /BDA layouts were very well planned. VVPuram, Bgudi, Mlvm, Jngr, Kml, INgr, Bsk, WOC rd lyout, BTM, JPngr, HSR, HBR, HRBR, HAL etc. It is ppl that r demolishing houses, bldg multi-storey apts & spoiling neighborhoods. Outskirts like WF, ORR, Sjpr rd hv been ruined fully

Sarjapur rd is stuck due to unplanned growth & stiff resistance fm newer properties thr, not all. It wl reach tipping point when they realize they r an obstacle & give in. Elev rds r just a fantasy by politicians & few carwallahs for getting across city, wl nvr happen 😄

Widening rds has been happening all the time. Just the other day, we heard that Jayamahal rd & Ballari rd (between Mekhri circle & BDA) are going to be widened. Previously, we had several rd widening projects undertaken - like palace rd, miller rd, sankey rd, bannerghatta rd etc.

Yes, metro wl take lesser time then suburban & buses even with darshan & stops if u include last mile & access at the two ends, even if frequent suburban trains ever come up on that route 😄
