My condolences go out to the family and friends of former Gov. Hughes. He was a great Governor and amazing Marylander. I reached out to him when I became County Exec and appreciated his wise advice on how to lead. Gov. Hughes, he will be missed.

I am humbled to receive the Maryland First Citizen Award. All my life I’ve been driven by the simple desire to improve people’s lives, and I’ve been lucky enough to make a difference. Thank you and Senate President Mike Miller for this honor.

My wife is a Richmond native and went to William & Mary law in the 80’s. She always crusaded against racism and injustice. On behalf or her and a nation of highly offended African Americans - should resign immediately.
