I’m on now talking about why we need to value those who plant and pick vegetables, fruit and bring in the harvest much more. Britain is short of nearly 70,000 seasonal agricultural workers and that could endanger future food supplies. Time for MPs to focus more on food

“Non-essential” is not a term in the Regulations. Regulation 6 allows us to obtain “basic necessities”, which specifically “includes food”. Types of food are not prescribed or proscribed. Schedule 2 allows “food retailers” to remain open. Again, types of food are not specified.
