RSA Close Support Wing Feb 13
The inaugural Gunner Training Symposium is underway at RSA. A interesting programme for RA units to get RSA updates, discuss all training matters, future opportunities and where RA training is heading.

Enjoyed joining our Young Officers’ Course on their Battlefield Study in Normandy. As is tradition, some PT thrown in to convey the physical & moral courage of WO2 Hollis VC at Gold Beach. Great accommodation at Château du Perron. Superb stands delivered by YOs.

You’ll appreciate this photograph of the Royal Artillery Mess. My records indicate that it was taken in 1970. Pilot probably on way home from a day of Air OP work!?

Apr 1973 Her Majesty visited Larkhill & sealed conferment of the Royal title on the School previously granted in 1970, our 50th Anniversary. The day was planned, by Her Majesty’s express wish, to have the simple character of a Regiment “At home”. And so it was.

I understand she sat with her easel on Salisbury Plain while eight batteries of horse artillery were driven towards her. “Forward the Guns” 1917. There are two other K-W paintings in the RA Mess.
