Here is the increase in added fat consumption by Americans. according to the USDA (notice animal fat). It looks like the disastrous recommendation to eat more is working:

The authors actually made some good points, many bad ones, and then we got to the blue zone reference (pretty much undermined any integrity the article may have had and was totally irrelevant), and then we got to the conflicts section... pinnacle foods
