My hope is that helping scientists understand that there is no such thing as "apolitical" science will help them realize they have to make political choices, and they might as well make good ones.

Every time I read about this, it gives me a headache. The way people twist the scientific method around for their own greed and malevolence is so opposed to how I think of it that it's difficult to imagine being one of those people and understand the problem.
