And while this may be contentious to some- the reality is that ethical branding is necessary given the “best” work doesn’t always rise to the top. Be diligent. Be true to a craft, but pair it with authentic branding or you likely won’t have the scale of impact you hope to.

“Branding” is an uncomfortable topic for many leaders, but here’s 1 thing to consider... If you don’t define the work you do, & why you do it, you are leaving it open to others to create an alternative narrative of their choosing. Brand = Who you are, made real by what you do.

When you make the “easy” things hard through overthinking and over complicating, you end up making the truly “hard” things nearly impossible. Avoid muddying the waters. There’s nothing “unsexy” about that which is simple and steady.

We're so immersed in (mis)information that it's amplifying indecision. To a point, information & direct mentoring are overvalued & raw experience is undervalued. You must directly experience what you want to express. Be willing to be exposed, judged, etc. if you want to grow.

Some in highly competitive professions often forget that seeing someone else “win” doesn’t mean you “lose.” Not talking sports here. Talking life. The more people you know who are successful- regardless of age, experience, or alternative methids-the more it should inspire you.
