There is a super loud floorboard right outside of my daughter's room which is right next to ours, and every time I need to get in my room after 730pm I basically have to spider crawl my way in

Having toddlers is so wild. I'm out here in my own home trying to tip toe past their rooms at night without creaking the floor and waking them up like I'm sixteen and sneaking back into the house after missing curfew.

When discussing the racial wealth gap, we need to discuss these stories. A black family bought prime Manhattan Beach real estate in 1912 for $1,225. They were harassed by racists and their property was wrongfully seized. That property is worth $75M today

Spent Baldwin's birthday yesterday thinking about how easy it is to take for granted how ubiquitous he's become in our discourse today. It wasn't always this way. There was a period not long ago, when few Baldwin books were being taught in schools, when many didn't know his name.

🚨🚨Here’s the big piece I’ve been promising: an Atlantic cover story about the US’s catastrophic mishandling of the pandemic. It’s a full autopsy of what went wrong, every unattended weakness & unheeded warning, every festering wound & reopened scar. 1/

ICYMI my investigation of the private firm that executes evictions in Philadelphia — which is owned by the wife of a landlord tenant judge — and concerns that it fails to provide tenant w/ the critical final notice before lockout, leaving them blindsided.
