That’s definitely a part of it. As is the Heat’s record so far. Still, I think it’s only fair to recognize the good when you criticize the not-so-good.

Hassan isn’t getting enough credit for how well he’s playing this season.

That was one interesting note I took from Riley’s talk last week. There is constant dialogue among all execs. Andy is a big part of it. He likened it to a group chat. So these things may come together in short order. But there’s an understanding about what it will take 4 awhile

That’s just not the Heat’s style. Here’s another problem: you need to develop Bam, JRich and Winslow, right? Well if you keep those 3 and “trade off” other big deals, you’re still going to be better than teams tanking bc the bottom of the roster is close to the top.

Right. And that’s the problem. The bottom of this Heat roster isn’t far enough away from the top of the roster to “tank.” Not like Cleveland, etc.

Here’s where I think people are stuck: Would it be great to get Zion or Barrett? Absolutely. It would be the most exciting possible outcome from this season. Problem is: the Heat won’t do it. There are other teams actively trying to tank and are better at it.

76ers blew a 16-point lead in Orlando. Bad trade.

Riley certainly didn’t need to start the cheer with Andy Elisburg
