Did you know there are 37 members of jumping (Salticidae family) in the UK? They don't make webs but hunt prey in daytime and are thought to have the best vision out of many of the UK's invertebrates! Celebrating with this mini-marvel!

There are a number of villages in the Churnet valley who have WW1 remembrance poppy displays. It would be good to collect together some photos of these...so I'll kick off with Denstone .please add more

Here are four of the 30+ species of hoverfly you could potentially see on Ivy blossom: Myathropa florea (Batman Hoverfly - has a batman logo on its back!), Helophilus pendulus (Tiger Hoverfly), Eristalis pertinax (Tapered Dronefly) and Ferdinandea Cuprea (Bronzy Hoverfly).
