the recipient of a million dollar donation from Gary "charter school" Chartrand, voted against the tax referendum even after all public schools have done for the community during the pandemic. How much must this guy hate public ed?

Education, unemployment benefits, health care, time and time again the GOP establishment shows us they don't care about the people of Florida. Your love of guns and hatred of abortion can no longer justify you voting for these self absorbed monsters.

You know I actually don't think that is a bad idea. But it should happen in July and be voluntary but the state would never fund it.

From what it seems a lot of teachers are trying to do too much and on one hand God bless them for jumping in with both feet but on the other, we risk alienating and pushing away those we are here to serve. I will err on cutting these kids some slack.

Counting the silver the get from the charter school lobby and putting pins in their public school voodoo doll is my guess.

As public schools have undergone a seismic shift to provide instruction, meals and technology to students during the pandemic, state board of education member Ryan Petty, perhaps the most unqualified of the lot and that is saying a lot, is shilling for charter schools. Gross

So Charter schools are schools when they want money and then businesses when they want money. Gotcha. We are letting them have their cake and eating it too.

Oh Fla, just 6 months ago FLVS was hanging on by its fingertips and now the BOE want to put them in charge of education? Never waste a crisis right. Leader resigns Board dismantled Under scrutiny

I don't think this decision by Greene is made by maliciousness or incompetence it is made with hope but hope is the destroyer of certainty and that's what people need. They need to be certain or as certain as possible about what is going to happen next.

Friends this is coming to Florida, an expansion of vouchers, charters and FLVS has already been paid for. The GOP will take every chance they can to dismantle public ed and put silver into their pockets.

The unemployment system was designed to fail, reminds me how FL has been setting up public ed to fail for the last decade. It hasn't because despite all the obstacles put in its path it is far superior to the alternatives. People need to wake up. The FL GOP is not on their side.
