This terrible story picks out the interaction of cheap guns and angry, entitled young men. Other countries have angry, entitled young men, but they can’t get hold of guns. Texas is drowning in guns, but when embarrassed by their peers, young women there don’t massacre classmates.

To celebrate J.S. Mill's birthday, we should apply his 'Principle of Difference' to school shootings. We need to see if there is anything that the USA has or lacks that singles it out from all these other countries. If so, it may be the 'cause, or a necessary part of the cause'.
