I made some of these using a combination of 2mm and 5mm thick acrylic on the laser. Both, transparent and black ones look really cool. You even can cut a thread for the screws direcly into the bottom plate if it is reasonable thick. I used 5mm and M4 threads.

lazywebs: does anyone know of a piece of free software that can slice SVGs from e.g. FreeCAD objects for _stacked_ laser-cutting?
I know F360 has this; and I know of solutions for slicing interlocking (rather than stacked) parts; but I’d love to make a sturdy, stacked design.
