Klobuchar sounds solid so far in this townhall. But, I have a “black agenda” question for her too. Everyone must answer.

Read or listen to the Slave Narratives one time, and it makes you insane with anger. At least it does for me as a black man in this country. I am left with the question: How could they? The answer always come back to this: Evil.

I forthright admit that I can’t get over the fact that slavery existed in this country, and my ancestors were subjected to it. The fact enraged me. I may well never get over it. And, I’m ok with that.

Me: Many of these past presidents (and now a current one) were racist as hell. Them: They were simply men of their time. Most [white] people thought like that then. Me: But my ancestors then were just as human as I am now. WTH are you saying?!

I never give time and energy to convincing racists of their racism. They can die with that cancer for all I care. I spend my time loving the egalitarian, including those who thrive to be, while I simultaneously attack racist systems of oppression that truly affect ppl’s lives.

Be clear: Trump is a racist. His supporters ignore, defend, support, cheer that. Trump’s symbols—hats, wall, etc—have become the iconography of white supremacy. Nothing is alledged to have done can change that. Exploitation of a fact isn’t alteration of a fact

I missed posting this quote from Toni Morrison’s “Jazz” on V-Day, but here it it: “But the picking out, the choosing. Don't ever think I fell for you, or fell over you. I didn't fall in love, I rose in it. I saw you and made up my mind. My mind.” This is EXACTLY how I feel!

New statement from Jussie Smollett’s attorneys “He has now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack. Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.”

Possible, I suppose, but no way Chicago PD would release foreign citizens who could abscond to their home country if detectives had any lingering suspicion that they were responsible.

Side note: I was very much aware and irks by the suggestive way media can’t stop showing pics of the Nigerian bros with shirts off and whole torsos showing. What does that have to do with this case?!!! NOTHING! And that’s not how they were dressed that night! This is also them!

I first got worried when I looked up the temperature in Chicago that night: Well below zero. Then, I looked up the freezing point for bleach: Above zero. I told myself then: Hold your fire. I still hope this isn’t true, but I don’t know what to make of it.
