Delete the text thread sis. You don’t need to keep going through it trying to recapture the wonderful things he said nor the painful way it ended. Let it be done if it’s done. The sun will shine again. 🌻

Pray for patience. Pray for strategy. Pray for strength. Pray for guidance. Pray for a renewed mind. Pray for a change of heart. Pray for acceptance. Pray for peace. Expect to be tested in those areas because how else would you know you’ve acquired it? IJS

The abortion bans in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Mississippi are appalling attacks on women's lives and fundamental freedoms. Women's rights are human rights. We will not go back.

Note to self (and anyone else who needs an occasional reminder): When you feel you need more discipline, you need more kindness. When you feel you need more "grit," you need more help.

I’m always so jealous of people who have never had to deal with constant anxiety or depression. Like, your mind doesn’t run a million miles a minute with all things out of your control?? Tell me more.

Try not to speak from the place of pain as it tends to taint the lens and bring about biases. Be careful not to bash or “villainize” people and remember at times you have been the villain in your own story. Despite the feeling fight the urge to always paint yourself as the hero.

PSA: If you cast a POC— And thank you for doing so!—you also have to hire someone who knows how to do ethnic hair. Not someone who's "comfortable with it" but someone who actually knows how to style ethnic hair types. Congratulations on advancing to the next level of inclusion!

Reminder: Harvard admits more white students with legacy preferences than the total number of black students admitted each year. And that’s for being *related* to privilege, not even counting the kids whose parents just purchased their admission.
